Part 1: Watching at Home
How to watch
Kickoff is 7:30 PM ET on NBC, and it streams on Peacock. If you stream, sign in an hour early so you’re not fixing a login at kickoff.
The storyline
Miami has the nation’s top-scoring offense at 47.6 points a game. Notre Dame has the No. 1 defense in FBS, allowing 236.1 yards a game. Something has to give. Miami has won the last two meetings, but Notre Dame still leads the all-time series 18-9-1. The opening line had Notre Dame by 4.5. (AP, Sports-Reference)
Key players
| Team | Player | Season so far |
|---|---|---|
| MIA | QB D. Mensah | 2,425 pass yards, 25 TD, 1 INT |
| MIA | WR M. Toney | 73 catches, 1,027 yards, 13 TD |
| MIA | RB J. Mallory | 495 rush yards, 7 TD |
| ND | QB C. Carr | 1,849 pass yards, 18 TD, 1 INT |
| ND | RB N. James Jr. | 519 rush yards, 8 TD |
| ND | WR J. Faison | 38 catches, 497 yards, 4 TD |
Stats from ESPN as of Nov. 1.
What to watch for
- Toney vs. the Irish secondary. Notre Dame allows just 150.8 passing yards a game. If Toney gets loose, Miami can win.
- Miami’s run defense. The Hurricanes allow only 61.4 rushing yards a game, so Notre Dame may have to throw more than usual.
- Turnovers. Both QBs have thrown just one interception. The first one could decide it.
Watch-party menu
- Irish side: a pot of beef stew or bratwurst with peppers and onions. Good on a chilly Indiana night.
- Miami side: Cuban sliders (ham, roast pork, Swiss, pickles, mustard) and plantain chips.
- Drinks: hot cider for the cold-weather crowd and a pitcher of mojitos (or a virgin version) for the Canes fans.
- Timing: serve the main dish at halftime, since a 7:30 kickoff runs late.
Hosting a watch party? A slow cooker keeps the main dish warm all game, and party platters make serving easy. Keep drinks cold in a cooler so nobody misses a play. Hang a Notre Dame flag or an Miami Hurricanes flag for the house divided, and a soundbar helps you hear the crowd.
Part 2: Traveling to the Game
Heads up: Notre Dame expects heavy crowds on campus Nov. 5–7 and asks fans to arrive early and allow extra time to get in. Check the official gameday page for updates that week.

Where to eat and stay
Hotels near campus and in downtown South Bend book up fast for a game this big. If they’re full, look at Mishawaka or Elkhart, then plan on traffic and allow extra time. Campus dining outside the stadium is cashless too, and you order through the Grubhub app or kiosks. For game-weekend events, see Traditions and Events on the gameday page.
Weather
Early November nights in South Bend can be cold. ESPN’s game page showed about 46° for game day as of Nov. 1. Bring layers, gloves and a blanket, and check the National Weather Service forecast the day before. Text UNDFANS to 226787 for Notre Dame’s ND Alert weather and safety messages.
What to pack
Driving in? A phone mount and a car charger keep the directions running, and car games for kids help on a long drive. Flying in? A neck pillow helps on the flight, and a packable rain poncho fits in a pocket.
At the stadium: Pack a clear stadium bag that fits the 12 x 6 x 12 limit. Bring a seat cushion for the bleachers and a portable power bank so your phone ticket doesn’t die. It gets cold, so pack hand warmers and a stadium blanket.
Tailgating: Set up a 10×10 canopy (most lots cap tents at that size), some folding chairs and a cornhole set. Where the rules allow it, a portable propane grill takes care of lunch. Rep your team with Notre Dame gear or Miami Hurricanes gear.
