What to watch for

• BYU’s run game. The Cougars had just 47 rushing yards last week against Arizona State.
• Martin’s status. His coach says he’s close to returning.
• Utah’s ground attack. The Utes ran for 268 yards at Cincinnati.

• Utah touch: fry sauce (ketchup and mayo) with tater tots.

Part 2: Traveling to the Game

Gates and entry

Gates open 2 hours before kickoff (8 AM MT for this game). All main gates have a no-bag express lane. If you come by TRAX, use Gates F or D or the Cauldron Stairs on the west side. Gate L on 500 South has the most scanners.

Bag policy

• One clear bag up to 12 x 12 x 6 inches, or a one-gallon clear storage bag.
• Plus a small clutch for privacy.
• One factory-sealed water bottle (1 liter or less), or an empty one, is allowed.
• Concessions are cashless.

Parking and tailgating

• Game-day parking is limited, so the school suggests carpooling or taking TRAX. Your game ticket works as a free UTA transit pass that day, and the Stadium TRAX station is right west of the stadium.
• Tailgating is only allowed in the designated tailgate lots shown on the 2026 parking map.
• RVs and trailers must be parked 3 hours before game time.
• Lyft picks up on 500 South. Other rideshares use 1300 East.

Where to eat and stay

Downtown Salt Lake City has the most hotels, and TRAX runs from downtown right to the stadium, so you can skip parking altogether.

Weather

Salt Lake City mornings in November can be cold. Dress in layers for a 10 AM kickoff. Check the National Weather Service forecast the day before.

What to pack

Driving in? A phone mount and a car charger keep the directions running, and car games for kids help on a long drive. Flying in? A neck pillow helps on the flight, and a packable rain poncho fits in a pocket.

At the stadium: Pack a clear stadium bag that fits the 12 x 6 x 12 limit. Bring a seat cushion for the bleachers and a portable power bank so your phone ticket doesn’t die. It gets cold, so pack hand warmers and a stadium blanket.

Tailgating: Set up a 10×10 canopy (most lots cap tents at that size), some folding chairs and a cornhole set. Where the rules allow it, a portable propane grill takes care of lunch. Rep your team with Utah Utes gear or BYU Cougars gear.
