  • Third downs. Georgia converts 51.6%. Ole Miss’s defense ranks 113th on third down.

Watch-party menu

  • Dawgs side: a Georgia peach cobbler for dessert and pimento cheese with crackers.
  • Rebels side: Mississippi-style fried catfish bites or a tray of hot tamales.
  • Timing: 7:30 PM kickoff, so serve the main dish around halftime.

Hosting a watch party? A slow cooker keeps the main dish warm all game, and party platters make serving easy. Keep drinks cold in a cooler so nobody misses a play. Hang a Ole Miss flag or an Georgia Bulldogs flag for the house divided, and a soundbar helps you hear the crowd.

Part 2: Traveling to the Game

Gates and entry

Gates open 2 hours before kickoff (5:30 PM ET for this game). No re-entry once you’re scanned.

  • Small clutch up to 4.5 x 6.5 inches.
  • Medical items are inspected at Gate 16 (east) and Gate 33 (west).
  • Not allowed: outside food, drinks or coolers, umbrellas, folding chairs, artificial noisemakers (like cowbells), and signs bigger than 8.5 x 11 inches.

  • Parking and shuttle details are on the official gameday site.

Where to eat and stay

Oxford is a small town, so hotels fill up fast for a night SEC game. Look in Oxford first, then nearby towns, and plan on game traffic. The Square downtown is the go-to place to eat and walk before and after the game.

Weather

Early-week forecasts called for mid-50s and cloudy at kickoff. Check the forecast again the day before. Check the National Weather Service forecast the day before.

Rules can change. Check the official athletics site during game week.

What to pack

Driving in? A phone mount and a car charger keep the directions running, and car games for kids help on a long drive. Flying in? A neck pillow helps on the flight, and a packable rain poncho fits in a pocket.

At the stadium: Pack a clear stadium bag that fits the 12 x 6 x 12 limit. Bring a seat cushion for the bleachers and a portable power bank so your phone ticket doesn’t die.

Tailgating: Set up a 10×10 canopy (most lots cap tents at that size), some folding chairs and a cornhole set. Grills aren’t allowed on campus, so plan a no-cook spread. Rep your team with Ole Miss gear or Georgia Bulldogs gear.
